A home in Sydney’s Seaforth likened to a wedding cake, instantly recognisable when driving along the Spit Bridge, is getting a renovation by its new owners, Tom and Belinda Williams.
The Williams family bought the property in April this year. Settlement documents this week show they purchased the three-storey, five-bedroom, three-bathroom mansion with design cues from European architecture for $8.5 million.
Williams said this week they will renovate the property and live in it.
“The building will remain largely as-is structurally, but we will be commencing internal and landscaping upgrades immediately, although gradually, as we will be doing much of the work ourselves while living there,” he said.
Williams is the founder and design director at Juicy Design, an interior and graphic design firm, and a director of ShedLife, a modular housing company.
Renovations have commenced, with footage shared to a public Instagram page devoted to the project.
The Williams family have officially offloaded their Bronte beachfront home, which sold for an undisclosed sum in 2025. Transfer documents this week show the four-bedroom, three-bathroom house sold for $18 million in a deal handled by Ben Collier of The Agency.
Their Seaforth residence hit the market in August last year for the first time since it was built in the 1980s.
The existing property on the waterfront 1100-square-metre parcel was purchased by painter-builder Nikolaous Dimitriadis, and his dressmaker wife Kiriaky, sight unseen on the day of the auction in 1979 for $93,000.
Dimitriadis knocked it down and enlisted architect Robert Blackmore for the new build.
While the couple hailed from Greece (Nikolaous from Athens and Kiriaky from Lipsi, a small island of the Dodecanese group), they travelled separately to Australia and met in a small milk bar on Lyons Road in Drummoyne.
Although Nikolaous passed away shortly after, he was survived by his wife and children, who lived at the grand residence which hosted countless parties and memories.
There are two entertaining balconies with classic colonnades and arches, drawing on the Dimitriadis family’s heritage, tiled and terrazzo floors, and unique ceiling and wall detailing.

“The wedding cake house is an iconic house that has been in the same family for over half a century. It will be fascinating to see what happens to it next,” Pillinger said.
Brady added, “It’s one of the most iconic properties on the northern beaches, and I’m excited to see what the new owners have in store.”
Surgeon cuts a deal
Foot and ankle surgeon Martin Sullivan, who has assisted Australian and international elite athletes, has sold his Kurraba Point home for about $26 million, local sources say.
The title shows a caveat has been lodged by Andrew Lau, an executive director of environmental consulting firm JBS&G, and his wife Miffy, an arts patron of the National Art School. It will be left to settlement documents to reveal the exact sales price of the lower north shore home.
Records show Sullivan purchased the abode for $5.3 million in 2001 from commercial property magnate Robert Christie, and reimagined it into an eight-bedroom, six-bathroom estate.
There is a main sandstone residence, a second dwelling with tennis court, and a third space with a gym, sauna, kitchenette and home office that overlooks the pool and spa.
Anna Chen of BresicWhitney Lower North Shore sold the house alongside Guido Scatizzi, and both declined to comment on any aspect of the sale when contacted.
Star homes still for sale
The Glenorie estate owned by Kyle Sandilands, the former co-host of the Kyle and Jackie O Show, and his wife Tegan Kynaston, has a current price guide of $4.9 million to $5.1 million, this masthead can reveal.
As previously reported by this masthead, the price guide in February was $5.7 million to $5.9 million, and was reduced to $4.9 million ahead of its May auction, where it failed to sell.
Sandilands bought the six-bedroom, five-bathroom home for $3 million in 2022. He renovated it last year.

Meanwhile, fashion designer Rebecca Vallance of the eponymous brand and her financier husband David Gasan, are selling their Vaucluse mansion with an adjusted price guide of about $28 million, local sources have revealed. As of May, the price guide was $35 million.
Vallance and Gasan, a partner at Apta Group, purchased a two-storey property on the site for $4.45 million in 2018, records show, and knocked it down to make way for a palatial multi-level build with six bedrooms and nine bathrooms, by architecture firm Archer Design.
Ray White Double Bay’s Elliott Placks and Thomas Popple are selling the home with Biller Property’s Paul Biller and Ben Torban, and all declined to comment on any aspect of the listing.
