A number of people have been injured on a Delta flight from Los Angeles to Sydney encountered severe turbulence this morning.
This masthead understands emergency services were called to Sydney Airport this morning to attend the scene.
A report by radio station 2GB said the was struck by intense turbulence, which caused flight attendants and several passengers to be jolted from their seats.
A number of crew and passengers have been injured, although the exact tally is unclear. This masthead understands three Delta crew members were transported to hospital.
FlightAware data shows Delta flight 41 arrived in Sydney at 6.48am on Friday morning after departing Los Angeles on Wednesday night at 10.11pm.
NSW Ambulance was alerted at around 6.45am, minutes before the plane landed, according to flight data.
Five people sustained minor injuries, with three people transported to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, NSW Ambulance said.
The injuries, described as “minor”, included back pain and head pain among those who were treated.
Delta Air Lines has been approached for comment.
