Selections based on a good track
Race 1

9. Scintillation was going to start in the market in the Lonhro Plate on Saturday but lands here from a perfect draw on the back of a couple of nice trials. Takes on largely three-year-olds but if she’s above average she’ll be hard to beat. 6. Perfect Force was well-supported at her debut at Scone last month, travelled well outside the leader before hitting the front only to be run down. Good gap to third. Outside gate a negative but respect. 7. Tigletta has been placed in all four starts and freshened up since a third at Wyong at the end of November after leading on the bend. Ridden back in her subsequent trial. Worth keeping in mind.
How to play it: Scintillation WIN

5. Written In Wrath finds a race that’s fallen right away with the bulk of the field racing on Tuesday and he produced a very nice trial win a few weeks ago to suggest he can win first-up. Will likely control the speed in a small field and take beating. 6. Sphere is an improving filly with placings at Canterbury and Warwick Farm this time in. Made ground up on the fence to snatch second on Australia Day and looks the logical danger. 1. Declan rallied when he looked in trouble at his debut to finish third at Kembla Grange in a 1000m maiden. Likely improver and has to be some chance.
How to play it: Written In Wrath WIN.

Race 3

1. Showtime Shadow made his debut on a heavy track at Tuncurry in September 2024 and has obviously had issues since then. Given plenty of time. He did trial quite nicely at Wyong a couple of weeks ago. Market a guide but looks a winnable race. 4. Ness is on debut for Les Bridge and both recent trials have suggested she has some ability. Ridden back a little in the latest and whether that means she goes back from the wide gate remains to be seen. Regardless, a big chance. 5. Three Wishes made a handy enough debut a month ago at Nowra, running a close third. Open to improvement.
How to play it: Showtime Shadow WIN.

Race 4

11. Vision In A Dream worked home when her latest trial was all over at Randwick two weeks ago doing some nice late work. Draws the inside so different scenario for her on race day and she appeals as a good chance. 3. Eynesbury was a little green in the run home when resuming at Canterbury but it was a handy return. Back the 50m and gets in well with the claim. Improver who should be hard to beat. 8. Kitesurfing was only beaten three lengths at Kensington second-up as she ran home without threatening. Chance to consolidate.
How to play it: Vision In A Dream WIN.

Race 5

1. Castagnola ran right up to his eye-catching debut effort when sitting handier and looking strong at the finish scoring at Kensington a few weeks back. Shapes as though the mile won’t be an issue and is a good chance to go back to back. 3. Hush Hush is another coming off a nice maiden win and she did it with a big finish down the outside at Kembla Grange over 1300m. Up the mile now, draws soft and is the logical threat. 4. I Am Wild looked in a bit of trouble before rallying to run third over the mile at this track a month ago. Similar sort of race and is an each-way chance.
How to play it: Castagnola WIN.

Race 6

4. Harry’s Evidence showed some ability in his first preparation then converted with a soft maiden win first-up at Wyong. Enjoyed a nice run and was far too good there, trickier draw but goes forward and should be hard to beat. 10. Miss Fleetwood was a maiden winner at Nowra in September and has run a couple of nice races around that last time in. Trialled nicely on two occasions leading into this and drawn to put herself in the race. Go well. 5. Spaceballs has switched to the Jason Deamer camp since her first-up fifth at Kensington when right in the market a couple of weeks ago. Has the ability on her day to be in the finish.
How to play it: Harry’s Evidence WIN.

Race 7

7. Wisnierska has been competitive in city grade and comes back in class to resume in a race that does look up for grabs and from the inside alley she should have her opportunity. She’s trialled twice and if she can make some use of the draw is entitled to show up. 2. Better Late comes back in grade as well after two runs at Rosehill. Only beaten a length in the first of them but disappointed in the latest. Wide gate an issue but with luck he could bounce back. 10. Shoutaboutit hasn’t raced since September when placed at Muswellbrook in a close finish. Has won a trial in good style and is an each-way hope fresh.
How to play it: Wisnierska WIN
