England holding firm
By
Haaland is breathing heavily, looking dejected. But then we’ve seen Haaland look like that before and then do something completely preposterous.
Bobb is keen to keep things moving and races off down the right but England are equal to everything coming at them. This has the flavour of their last-16 win over Mexico with 10 men. And you had to wonder pre-match if that would have left them too emotionally done to get back up for this one. But here they are doing it.

GOAL! Bellingham puts England ahead!
By
… Bellingham is in the right place at the right time. That’s a poacher’s goal. Rogers has a long-range strike that’s saved by Nyland but Bellingham is there for the rebound and first-time finish right near the goal.

First half of extra-time under way!
By
Ostigard replaces the presumably injured Heggem, and England get the first 15 minutes going. Inside the halfway line they pass, from Spence to Eze and holding off Bobb. The ball bounces back out and is fed back in, with Saka on the run this time only to be thwarted. England have the corner. Saka takes it. It’s headed away. Saka sends the ball back in and a shot at the far post is SO CLOSE. And then ...

The stats heading into extra time

We’re headed for extra-time!

Both sides will have to dig deep for an additional 30 minutes. And there are some exhausted players out there. Hold tight.

England appeal for a penalty
By
Heggem, who himself has just gone down and gotten back up, has felled Bellingham with the latter through on goal. His right foot catches Bellingham’s achilles and Kane is calling for a pen immediately. It isn’t clear if the VAR is going to conduct a review in this incident, but now it seems not. Play on.

England on the ascension now
By
They’ve got the buzz around them and are pinning Norway back. But it’s toe to toe in the hunt for that elusive winner that would bring this to a close before extra-time. It isn’t looking likely at this point, but stranger things have happened.

Spence challenges keeper and almost succeeds
By
He’s at full speed towards Nyland with the view of challenging him as he tries to distribute back up the field. And he gets a boot to it that could have been a disaster for Norway had the ball not bounced wide.
There will be seven minutes of added time.

Norway have a chance; England have a bigger chance
By
Nusa turbocharges away on the inside left … until he’s challenged. Norway work the ball back out and then back in for Nusa, though his shot is straight at Pickford. Spence comes on in England’s latest sub and replaces O’Reilly. And just as I’m thinking Konsa must be absolutely battered, he gets to come off and Rogers comes on.
BUT NOT BEFORE … England have an almost-moment! It’s Saka at the forefront and he squeaks past Wolfe and into the area before letting rip a cross towards the goalmouth. Both Kane and Eze are there and the latter is probably in a better position, but Aursnes bullies him out of it. That was a chance.

Norway rack up the corners
By
Nusa chips in a ball that hangs in the air for such an eternity it’s up to the imagination to predict what might happen once it comes back down. In the end England’s defence deal with it.
But Norway have their fifth corner of the second half now (England have none), and Berg lines it up at the left corner flag. It’s low and hard, and Kane diverts it away. Odegaard tries a clever ball over the top which doesn’t work.
